Lord High Steward has the sole legal power to deputise for the Lord Grate Steward in the felony trials with in the Court of the Grate High Steward which serves this purpose when Parliament was not in session over impeachment trials of peers (a rare occurrence in the House of Lords). They also handle the Royal Mews and Royal Travel, as well as the ceremony around the awarding of honours. The Minister for Crown has the Sovereign's right to act directly on the Sovereign's authority on matters of the Sovereign's desire.
