Woman Found Dead in Norfolk Home Named Locally as GP


A woman found dead at a home in Dersingham, Norfolk, has been named locally as GP Dr Hannah Terry, also known as Hannah Cain.
Dr Terry, who was in her 40s, was found at a property in Fern Hill, Dersingham, during the early hours of Sunday.
Norfolk Police were called to the address by ambulance crews shortly after 02:20 BST.
Police have not officially identified the woman.
A man in his 40s has been arrested on suspicion of murder and remains in police custody.
Murder investigation launched
Detectives from the Norfolk and Suffolk major investigation team are investigating the circumstances surrounding the woman's death.
Det Insp Alix Wright said officers were in the very early stages of the investigation and were working to establish exactly what had happened.
Police have appealed to anyone with information that could assist the investigation to come forward.
A police cordon remains in place outside the property in Fern Hill.
Suspect given additional time in custody
The man arrested on suspicion of murder appeared at Great Yarmouth Magistrates' Court on Monday.
Officers were granted an additional 32 hours to question him.
He remains in custody while detectives continue their enquiries.
The arrest is an allegation only and no charge has been reported at this stage.
GP linked to local medical practice
Dr Terry is listed as a member of the practice team at Grimston Medical Centre.
Following the news, a notice on the medical centre's website said the practice was "temporarily closed due to extremely difficult circumstances affecting our practice team."
The notice did not provide further details.
The medical practice has not publicly confirmed the circumstances surrounding Dr Terry's death.
Post-mortem examination
A Home Office post-mortem examination was due to take place as part of the investigation into the woman's death.
The examination is expected to help detectives establish the cause of death.

Det Insp Wright has urged anyone who may have information relevant to the investigation to contact police.
