The Seattle Seahawks have suffered a major injury setback during their preseason defeat to the Tennessee Titans, with rookie linebacker Bud Clark expected to miss months after breaking his right ankle.

Offensive lineman Mason Richman also suffered what head coach Mike Macdonald described as a major, long-term injury, adding to a difficult week for Seattle.

🚨 Bud Clark Suffers Serious Ankle Injury

Clark was injured on Seattle's very first defensive play of the game.

The rookie linebacker broke his right ankle and was placed in an air cast before being taken from the field.

Macdonald confirmed after the game that Clark is expected to be out for months.

The injury is a particularly disappointing blow for the 49ers? No — Seahawks, with Clark having been selected by Seattle in the second round of the 2026 NFL Draft with the 64th overall pick.

The former TCU standout had been looking to make an immediate impact during his first NFL season.

Players from both teams gathered around Clark before he was taken from the field, highlighting the seriousness of the moment.

💔 Richman Also Suffers Long-Term Injury

Seattle's injury problems began even earlier in the game.

Offensive lineman Mason Richman went down during the opening drive after suffering an injury to his right leg.

He was helped from the field after trainers examined the injury.

Macdonald said the Seahawks still needed to determine the exact nature of the problem but described it as a major, long-term injury.

Losing Richman could create another challenge for Seattle's offensive line as the team prepares for the regular season.

🏥 Jake Bobo Already Placed on IR

The Seahawks were already dealing with another serious injury before Sunday's game.

Wide receiver Jake Bobo suffered a right knee injury during Seattle's joint practice with Tennessee on Friday.

Bobo was carted from the practice field and was subsequently placed on injured reserve.

That means Seattle has now suffered multiple significant injuries involving key squad members in a very short period.

😔 A Difficult Week for Seattle

Macdonald described Clark and Richman as players who represent the type of footballer the Seahawks want in their organisation.

He praised both players as talented footballers, great teammates and players with bright futures.

The Seahawks coach admitted that suffering three major injuries in the space of a week had been extremely difficult for the team.

Linebacker Connor O'Toole also spoke about the emotional impact of Clark's injury, explaining that moments like this go beyond football.

🏈 Titans Edge Seahawks

The injury problems came during a preseason game that Tennessee eventually won 19-16.

The Titans overcame a 13-point deficit to claim victory against a Seahawks side that rested many of its starters.

However, the final score was overshadowed by the injuries suffered by Seattle.

🔵 Sport @ Real Terryo Verdict

Preseason results are rarely the most important thing, but injuries can have a major impact on the regular season.

For Seattle, losing Bud Clark for months is a significant setback for a promising young player, while Mason Richman's long-term injury creates another question for the offensive line.

With Jake Bobo already on injured reserve, the Seahawks now face a difficult period of injury management before the regular season begins.

Our thoughts are with Bud Clark, Mason Richman and Jake Bobo as they begin their recoveries.
