Two Newport drug dealers have been jailed for a combined nine years and nine months after Gwent Police uncovered a supply line distributing cocaine and crack cocaine across the city.

Thomas Coffey, from Stow Hill, Newport, and Victoria Seymour, from Howe Circle, Newport, were sentenced at Cardiff Crown Court following an investigation by Gwent Police’s Serious Organised Crime team.

Detectives uncovered evidence showing the pair were involved in supplying Class A drugs in Newport. Officers also recovered cocaine, crack cocaine, drug paraphernalia and thousands of pounds in cash during the investigation.

Both Coffey and Seymour pleaded guilty to the offences they faced.

Coffey was jailed for six years and nine months after admitting being concerned in the supply of Class A crack cocaine, possession of cocaine and crack cocaine with intent to supply, using or acquiring or possessing criminal property, and possession of Class B cannabis and cannabis resin.

Seymour was jailed for three years after admitting being concerned in the supply of Class A crack cocaine.

Their combined sentences total nine years and nine months.

Detective Constable Gemma Bradley said tackling drug supply, dismantling county lines and protecting the public from illegal drugs and associated crime remained a priority for Gwent Police.

She said: “Tackling drug supply, dismantling county lines and protecting the public from illegal drugs and associated crime is a priority for us.”

Police appeal to the public

Gwent Police is urging members of the public to report suspected drug dealing, county lines activity or organised drug-related crime.

Information from residents can help officers identify those involved in the supply of illegal drugs and protect communities from the wider harm associated with the drugs trade.

Anyone with information about suspected drug dealing or organised criminal activity is encouraged to report it to Gwent Police. Information can also be passed anonymously through Crimestoppers.
