Driver and Dog Die After Car on Fire Crashes Into Parked Vehicle

A driver and a dog have died after a car caught fire and crashed into a parked vehicle in mid Wales.
Dyfed-Powys Police said the collision happened on the A470 between Llyswen and Llansteffan in Powys at around 19:30 BST on Saturday.

Audi Crashes Into Parked Peugeot
Officers were called after reports that an Audi A5 was on fire after colliding with a parked Peugeot 2008.
The Peugeot also caught fire, but it was unoccupied at the time of the crash.
The driver of the Audi was pronounced dead at the scene. A dog travelling in the back seat of the Audi also died.
Police said the driver's next of kin have been informed.
Road Closed During Investigation
The A470 was closed while emergency services and officers carried out an investigation into the circumstances of the collision.
The road remained closed overnight before reopening at around 17:00 BST on Sunday.
Police are now appealing for witnesses who may have seen the crash or the vehicles shortly before the collision.
Officers are also asking anyone with dashcam, CCTV or other footage that could assist the investigation to come forward.
Dyfed-Powys Police has urged anyone with information to contact the force.
The circumstances surrounding the crash remain under investigation.
