The Los Angeles Chargers have suffered an injury setback ahead of the new NFL season, with starting center Tyler Biadasz placed on injured reserve after suffering a left knee injury during a joint practice with the San Francisco 49ers.

The injury is another concern for the Chargers as they prepare for the start of the 2026 NFL season.

⚠️ Biadasz Injured During Joint Practice

Biadasz was injured during an 11-on-11 drill when 49ers defensive tackle Sebastian Valdez fell into his leg.

The Chargers center was subsequently carted from the field, and the team has now placed him on injured reserve.

The loss of Biadasz could be significant for Los Angeles, with the experienced offensive lineman expected to play an important role in protecting the quarterback and helping establish the running game.

🏈 Experienced NFL Center

Biadasz joined the Chargers in March after being released by the Washington Commanders.

The former Wisconsin standout has considerable NFL experience, having started 84 regular-season games and seven playoff games during his career with Washington and the Dallas Cowboys.

Dallas selected Biadasz in the fourth round of the 2020 NFL Draft, and he has developed into an experienced and dependable offensive lineman.

The Chargers will now have to adjust their offensive line heading into the new campaign.

🔄 Chargers Add Gary Jennings

Following Biadasz's move to injured reserve, the Chargers signed wide receiver Gary Jennings to fill the vacant roster spot.

The move gives Los Angeles additional depth at wide receiver as the team prepares for the final stages of preseason.

🏟️ Preseason Finale Against the Rams

The Chargers are scheduled to finish their preseason on Thursday night against the Los Angeles Rams.

That game will provide an opportunity for the coaching staff to assess the offensive line without Biadasz and determine how best to prepare for the regular season.

Sport @ Real Terryo Verdict

Losing an experienced starting center at this stage of the offseason is far from ideal for the Chargers.

Biadasz's experience and starting record make him an important part of the team's offensive line, and his absence will create another challenge for the coaching staff to solve before the regular season begins.

With the NFL season approaching, the Chargers will now be hoping for positive news regarding Biadasz's recovery while working on their options at center.
