Terry the Micronation leader

So Have you ever said that you want to start your own Country. in this weeks episode we are looking at Micronations this is a on going topic we have talked about before and A Micronation is a political entity whose members claim that they belong to an independent nation or sovereign state lacking legal recognition by world governments or major international organisations.

so come have you sat there on your own or with a group of friends and talked about or just wondered what your own country would be like or even what would you do if you were KING or even a President. Well call me a Geek but I have and in fact it was February 2004 I was student union President and our current constitution was not working so my self and some members of my team who did not know how to write one so we did some searching online and we found things about Micronations so then we started talking about what we would do if.a few days had past and we had made the changes to the Student Union' constitution Then it was a few days before lee Ellery's Law exam for his business course and my self and my so he had never been in a courts and there differences and even the different types of cases so Lee was not getting the information we were telling him and this was in a time where you tube was not even set up let alone able to help with a department of justice training film.

so we were talking about and acted out a criminal case with yes me as judge. Terry Begley playing the Role of Crown prosecution and Lee as the Jury, 2 other Friends Adam as the Defence solicitor and the nasty Criminal Friend was played by Richard Charged with stealing the SU Presidents last ham role and can of Doctor Pepper. Now if you know me you know back in 2004 having to spend most of your time on the go between meeting's, classes and ones own office you did not get much time to sit down in a canteen to eat with friends it use to be get a roll and read the post (before everything went digital) but back to the story and why we are talking about my life an friends and Micro nations. So we continued wit the biggest case Swansea College student's Unions offices has ever heard the Case of the presidents Missing Ham Roll and the case Richard was sentenced to 200 years in Jail and made to pay a fine.

after the case Lee pointed out where we went wrong this is when joking about that Manchester united loving chap Terry Begley who was my Vice President joked and said we started a Micronation this was the 15th February 2004. so the kingdom of the SU was started with a young 17 year old Terrance Davies Being elected King of the Micronation I was Given the Named King Terrance I or Called Mr President or even HM we worked out a constitution, the laws and rights of the Citizens or Subjects and mine as the King (FULL POWER To appoint and remove was never on the table). and my first cabinet had to appointed and we had to get the case of Case of the presidents Missing Ham Roll in front of a Appeal Court or the Micronation would given a judgement that we could not carry out after all we ere getting on in age 17 to early 20s who wants to plan what they be doing when they are 182 years old. in one afternoon we could held the first Meeting of the Loyal House of Ovens and Most Noble House of Lords and appointed members to the Crown Council.

we used the student unions constitution and changed bits and removed things like elections of the head of the Micronations but left the other roles there this stayed like that for about four years give or take the odd removal of a minister. then in 2009 I was at university and living in halls and we lets just say were having problems with the flats around us now we had to declarer war but did not have a entity to do it yet. we were all sitting in the lounge and talking and and the I told them about the so called country that I started with friends in college all those years ago. this time it was Thom who said we should do this and once again I find my self being elected king again so I now had two micornations with the same constitution and king so what next to do or yea do what the British do unionise.

What is A Micronation

A micronation is a political entity whose members claim that they belong to an independent nation or sovereign state lacking legal recognition by world governments or major international organizations.

A micronation expresses a formal and persistent if unrecognized claim of sovereignty over some physical territory. Micronations are distinct from true secessionist movements; micronations' activities are almost always trivial enough to be ignored rather than challenged by the established nations whose territory they claim. Several micronations have issued coins, flags, postage stamps, passports, medals and other state-related items, often as a source of revenue.

Some of what might now be considered micronations began in the 20th century. The advent of the Internet provided the means for people to create many new micronations, whose members are scattered all over the world and interact mostly by electronic means, often calling their nations "nomadic countries". The differences between such "Internet micronations", other kinds of social networking groups and role-playing games are often difficult to define.

The term "micronation" to describe those entities dates at least to the 1970s. The term micropatriology is sometimes used to describe the study of both micronations and microstates by micronationalists, some of whom refer to sovereign nation-states as "macronations".

Micronations contrast with microstates, which are small but recognized sovereign states such as Andorra, Liechtenstein, Luxembourg, Monaco, San Marino and Vatican City.

They are also distinct from imaginary countries and from other kinds of social groups (such as eco-villages, campuses, tribes, clans, sects and residential community associations).
